Jonas Mekas (Lituania 1922 - Nueva York 2019) Ha realizado diversos films entre los que cabe citar Grand Street (1953), Silent Journey (1955), Guns of the Trees (1960-61), 100 Glimpses of Salvador Dalí (1961), Moires: Dalí/Oster Newsreel (1963), Film Magazines of the Arts (1963), The Brig (1964), Award Presentations to Andy Warhol (1964), The Millbrook Report (1964), The Circus Notebook (1966), Hare Krishna (1966), Journal (1969). Pero quizás su actividad y aportación fundamental al cine "underground" sea su función de inspirador y organizador de la Film Makers Cooperative.
